happy holidays to you all.
I’m in a gorgeous 9-room Park Avenue property that’s coming to market in a few weeks – feel free to contact me for More details- because otherwise, it’s still top secret…
This month let’s talk about real estate agents AND real estate cycles.
When I became a real estate agent 16 years ago, we were beginning a stellar market that carried us nearly through 2007, with a very challenging end of 2008 through 2009.
The second strong market I experienced began in 2010 and carried on nearly through 2016.
In rising real estate markets, the general atmosphere makes it relatively easy for Buyers to make purchasing decisions- and of course easier for sellers to sell- press, the stock market and lots of other forces are all aligned.
While it’s never easy to do what I do, it is a bit easier in a market like this.
Then-
when we see softening in the market, as we have over the last two years, everything changes.
I would argue that this is when it is far easier to see the value that talented agents bring to the table.
we have seen a variety of forces putting pressure on prices, which test the resolve of both buyers and sellers.
Who will convince buyers to see opportunities?
Who will help sellers see market realities?
That’s right- good agents.
What happens is that the cream does rise to the top, AND when so many of the 30,000 licensed real estate salespeople in New York City decide that this is not the business for them anymore.
Market knowledge, salesmanship, and good systems are incredibly important.
When you bring these and other skills to the table, you can then actually bring deals together, in a tough market, or any market.
As always, if you like my videos, thank you for sharing them and enjoying them. I’ll see you next Month.
