of GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER weighs in on Valentine’s Day.

She writes, “Let’s

celebrate the beauty of your home.”
If it’s a time to love, let’s love your home.

She tells me “Look Beyond The Mess.”
Every home has something to love. Look beyond perceived household messes to discover the treasures within.
Maeve gives a few great pointers about embracing things at home:
Comfort: Notice things that always make you smile, as simple as morning sun across the kitchen floor. Begin each day with a lookat one thing that is perfect just the way it is.
Color: Locate colors that frequently appear. You chose them for areason, embrace that instinct, and use more of that color in yourhome.
Display: Find the rhythm to how you display your things:layered, stacked or piled. Don’t think of it as mess, but asinspiration.
Stand By Your Style & Find Your Way: An organized home doesn’t need to lookpristine. Hold on dearly to quirks that define your style, likestacks of favorite magazines or jewelry scattered across abedroom dresser top.
Do What You Love: Experts say no clothes on the floor, butwhat if that’s a favorite pastime? Embrace habits that make youhappy (like clothes on the floor) and find solutions for those thatare counter-productive (like dishes piled for days in the sink).
Love The Way You Live: Every home should be a haven, a place of serenity for you andyour family. Make peace by learning to love the way you live.
What I Love: Challenge yourself, and your family, to nameactivities that nurture, like family dinnertime or your bedtimereading ritual.
What’s Missing: Name activities you’d like to introduce, likegame night or a stress-free way to get your kids to school.
Make a Wish: Grow one new activity from your ‘What’s Missing’List. If you are planning with a family, get everyone on board andwith each member responsible for a task. Even little ones canhelp – for example, let them set the table for family dinner night.

I appreciate her amazing perspective.
